It's that time of year. Seems everybody is creating their own version of the iconic Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte - so I thought, "why not with flowers?"
If I were to interpret a floral SPL, I'd fill my cup with mellow coral and salmon-hued zinnias and dahlias that are still holding on in these brisk fall temperatures. The garden continues to surprise me with all the beautiful colour palettes that rise up and when these two orangey varieties were harvested and ended up together in the same bucket, I thought you look warm, fluffy and delicious, just like a PSL.
It must be the cooler lift in the air and the ripening of the field to richer tones of cantaloupe and raspberry that has me dreaming of toddies and sweaters. The mornings are quiet and fresh when we harvest. The bounty of beautiful flowers has peaked and it's time to walk a little bit slower and take it all in.
Cozy up my dears.
