my serious bio

Cynthia is a published floral and interior designer known for her character-filled spaces and romantic floral displays.

With a floristry approach grounded in the Slow Flower Movement, Cynthia grows sustainable, speciality-cut blooms and creates seasonal, uncontrived arrangements. This sensitive aesthetic spills into Cynthia's interiors which are true-to-the-space and meaningful mash-ups of tradition, texture and colour.

A creative optimist at her core, Cynthia shares inspiration as an editorial stylist and contributor, presenter and workshop leader. She has been recognized by leading media including Apartment Therapy, Style at Home, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, Country Living, Globe and Mail and HGTV and appears at events like the One of a Kind Craft Show, Seasons Christmas Show and Cottage Life Show.

A former public relations executive, Cynthia now devotes her time to design projects and family. Along with her husband, Graham, Cynthia is currently restoring the historic Millar House and gardens in Port Dover, Ontario which they enjoy with their children Ben, Ruby, Theo, and black lab, George.

OUR LOVE AFFAIR WITH HOMES (AND EACH OTHER)

What started as an office romance more than twenty years ago has become an enduring love story.

A marriage, three children and a few houses saved later, we're still flirting.

We've called some remarkable period properties home, including a Victorian row house, a Tudor cottage, a turn-of-the-century duplex, a one-hundred-year-old farm house with flower field and Georgian heritage property called Millar House.

WE HAVE THIS THING FOR OLD HOUSES

design philosophy

Let your house speak. Love and care for her. Fill her with the people, creatures and things that bring joy and make you smile.

HOMES HAVE SOULS

High and low. Treasures and trash. Big box and boutique. Diy and couture. Old and new. When you surround yourself with what you love, it all goes together.

YOU DO YOU

And her candy is flowers. We should always have them. They lift a space and our spirits. They unite us. Source local and sustainable. Grow your own. Forage responsibly.

MOTHER NATURE IS THE ORIGINAL STYLIST

Get turned on by the provenance of old spaces and stuff. The best way to save character homes is to keep them relevant to how we live today.

OLD HOUSES ARE SEXY
